The first few months of any new business can be a torrid time, and Webwizards is certainly no exception. However, things are beginning to pick up and settle down a little now.
In my last entry, I mentioned a new web site with an equestrian theme, and this is now up and running; take a look at www.larry-bensusan.co.uk . Larry is a practitioner of shiatsu, thought field therapy and hypnosis for both horses and riders; he is very well know in equestrian circles and he felt that his web site should reflect his status. Webwizards was proud and pleased to have been tasked with this project, and we think the results speak for themselves.
So, what else is new? Well, Webwizards was comissioned to build two web sites for an investment bank which has branches in both London and Singapore, and both of those sites are expected to go live within the next week. We are also working with a London based event management company, and have already developed a single page site for them, which will provide a web presence while their larger and more comprehensive site is under development.
We are also just starting out on another new project with a new shop located right in the heart of Liverpool, another project that we are very excited about!
So, there it is…. things go from strength to strength, and this looks like being the start of an ‘Upswing’.
Oh….one other thing…..Exam results were published this week, and I got a Distinction with 9 credits for my City and Guilds Level 3 (advanced) web design assignment.

Summer finally arrived in the UK in June, and a new desk arrived in the Webwizards office too! There have also been some computer upgrades, with a high spec graphics card and a shiny new 23″ HP monitor to sit alongside the older 19″ one. This means being able to work on page code while displaying a web browser at the same time; it all makes life a lot easier.
The newest addition to the Webwizards portfolio went live this week too; a gorgeous looking site located at www.carolmacdonald.co.uk, which we are soooooo proud of! Carol Macdonald is a style and beauty consultant based in Formby, Merseyside, and she needed a new site to promote her business as a Colour Me Beautiful agent.
Not only has her head office approved her new web site, but they were so impressed with it that they are now recommending their new agents to get their web sites built by none other than Webwizards!
It’s so nice to be appreciated, and so much nicer when that appreciation results in recommendations for new clients.
Oh, and we’re currently completing a smart new web site for a well respected person in the equestrian field too, someone who routinely works with Olympic champions, 3-day eventers and the like.
We’re very excited about this new client and are pulling out all the stops to make sure his web site is something that we can both be proud of and will boost his particular avenue of business.
More about that later though…all a bit hush-hush right now, but very exciting nonetheless
It’s all go in the Webwizards office !!

There has been a lot of talk recently about changes that Google have made to their indexing algorithm; these changes took effect on May 1st.
You might have noticed that your site has slipped a few positions in the rankings, or in some more serious cases, may have vanished altogether!
Good SEO is essential to the performance of your web site, and regular maintenance is a must to keep your site up where it belongs.
The recenent changes at Google have aparrently had more effect on ‘long tail’ searches, ie. those searches which find pages buried several layers deep inside a web site. You might be fortunate enough to notice no change at all to the performance of your own web site, but that doesn’t mean you can sit back and forget about SEO.
Without regular maintenance to your web site, it is going to run into trouble sooner or later, and when it does, you will lose your treasured spot in the rankings. Once that happens, you will have your work cut out in trying to scramble back up the hill to regain the position that you used to occupy in the search results.
Don’t let it happen to you, make sure your web site is properly optimised right from the start, and make sure it is regularly maintained in order to hold on to your position, or better still , improve on it!
Your best option is to call in someone who knows what they’re doing – someone like Webwizards!
We provide a full SEO package as part of our web design and creation service, and we are also happy to optimise your existing web site too, even if it was built by someone else.
Don’t get left behind when Google loses interest in your web site, contact Webwizards today by visiting www.webwizards.org.uk.

I wonder if everyone has as much trouble finding their way around Wordpress as I have; Its rather like being dumped in a foreign country with only a phrase book to help you get around. Having said that, here we are blogging like a pro, with a customised page and it all seems to be coming together nicely.
I think that sometimes I am too impatient to get instant results, when all that is really needed is a little bit of concentration, a clear head and a few hours to spare. I’m getting to like Wordpress now, and the more I learn about it the better it gets
